BURLINGTON - On Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, Frances Elaine Crossley Banse "Sandy" left this life for the next.

Some of her favorite music accompanied her, and family surrounded her with love. She is now reunited with her beloved daughter, Donna Lynn, and her sister, Katherine.

Mom left behind her daughters, Dale Dalton and her partner, John Owen, Deborah Dodge and her husband, Robert, and Devon Dougall and her husband, Robert. Her youngest daughter, Donna Lynn predeceased her in 1968. Mom also left behind her son, Gregg Banse; and two special nieces, Judy Faulkner of Belleville, Pa., and Peg Collard of Ralston, Okla.

Sandy was "Grandma" to Isabelle, Lorianne, Tiffany and Ryan, and "Mom Mom" to Kristin, Heather and Heidi. She was Great Grandma to Emmett, Mac, Avery, Ezra, Camron, Caleb, Taylor, and CarolAnn.

She was born on May 4, 1926, in Westmont, N.J., the youngest of five children born to Hannah Townsend and Clarence Wesley Crossley.

At a young age, Mom began to learn how to play the pipe organ at the Methodist Church in Westmont. God gave her the gift of musical talent, and she used it to worship Him. Her musical career as both church organist and choir director spanned many years and included many church families. Sandy's talent extended to handwork, and her quilts and quilt works grace our homes. She created beauty in her apple head dolls, her decorated balsam Christmas wreaths, and her many delicious baked goods. One of her greatest pleasures was giving her beautiful creations to others. Another was the contentment she felt when she was with her family, and yet another was her fondness for her golden retrievers, Donner, Casey and Samantha. They held a special place in her heart. She is greatly missed and will be forever loved.

Sandy's family will host a gathering at the Ready Funeral Home Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive in Essex Junction, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m.

We welcome anyone who knew our Mom to come and share remembrances of her with us. To send online condolences to the family please visit www.readyfuneral.com.
