Margaret M. Abbeal , 90, a former Moscow, Idaho, resident, died Monday at the Life Care Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She was born Oct. 12, 1909 to Samuel and Mabel Crofoot at Pearle, Mich. She graduated from high school in Leavenworth, Wash.
She married Arnold Conlee Abbeal Nov. 25, 1928, in Leavenworth.
The family moved to Moscow, Idaho, in 1956. They opened Arnold's Donut Shop, a diner, and ran it for several years.
She went to work for Gritman Hospital, now Gritman Medical Center, and became head of the Medical Records Department.
She retired in 1974, and they moved to Bainbridge Island.
In Moscow she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In Bainbridge Island she was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, the Bainbridge Island Garden Club, the Children's Orthopedic Guild, and the order of Amaranth, in which she served two terms as Royal Matron.
She is survived by her daughter, Marian McGrew of Coeur d'Alene; one son, Daniel Abbeal of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Ramsey of Oak Harbor, Wash.; two brothers, Samuel Crofoot of Cleveland, Tenn., and Cecil Crofoot of San Diego, Calif.; and two grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island. Interment will be in the Port Blakely Cemetery.
