Cox, Nellie Lucille – 1999
Collinsville – Services for Nellie Lucille (Crockett) Cox, 75, are set for 10:30 am Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist church with the Rev. George Jones, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cox died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1923, to Robert and Mattie Roland Crockett in Cotton Plant, Ark. On Sept. 1, 1945, she married O.I. "Pete" Cox in Cooke County. She was a former member of the Whitesboro Church of Christ. She cooked and worked in the laundry at Camp Howze during World War II. She was a homemaker in her own home.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Beth Cox of Collinsville; Douglas and Ok Yo "Rosemary" Cox of Denton; Robert Cox of Collinsville; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother, Robert L. Crockett of Woodbine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.I. "Pete" Cox on Jan. 13, 1992; and sister, Dorothy French.
Pallbearers are Wayne Kyle, Billy Carl Lemons, Scott Johnson, Bill Cox, Dennis Reasor and Louis Crockett. Honorary pallbearer is Abe Soon Cox. Family will be at her home to receive friends.
