Mary Jennett Crockett Brewer, daughter of John "Jack" Crockett and Fereby Ward, was born in (what was then) Lancaster District in South Carolina.
In about 1830, she sought a home with her older married sister, Arabella Elizabeth Crockett Lanier (1808-1881), in Montgomery County, Alabama.
On November 3, 1834, she married Mr. John Adams (1808-1842), a gentleman she had known from her childhood in South Carolina.
They became the parents of two daughters. The eldest was Mary Jennett Adams (1836-1837). The younger was Elizabeth "Liza" Clementine Adams (1840-1885) who married Rev. Isaac Tatom (1833-1894) on May 23, 1859.
Mary was widowed by the death of her husband John on January 28, 1842 and on April 16, 1845, she married Reuben Henry Brewer (1819-1881) in Mount Meigs, Montgomery County, Alabama.
Following the death of her husband Reuben, she relocated from Mount Meigs to Dallas, Texas, to be with her daughter Feriba Eleanora Brewer Harry (1849-1930). She was accompanied by her son Samuel Green Brewer (1846-1914), a widower, and his daughter Margaret Ray "Maggie" Brewer (1857-1959).
Her obituary (taken in part) from a Montgomery County, Alabama, newspaper read...
"Our grandmother, Mrs. M.J. Brewer, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.M. Harry, in the city of Dallas, Texas, on the third day of February, 1887, after a brief illness of pneumonia. Her gentleness, patience, and loving companionship ring, her declining years were beautiful, and touching and endeared her to all who knew her."
