Mary Constance Crockett Cochran, 76, affectionally known as Cappie, died July 24, 2008 at Lanier Village Estates in Gainesville, Georgia. Cappie had been a resident at Lanier Village for two years. She was born on May 23, 1932 in Gloucester County, Virginia. She was a long-time resident of Maysville, Kentucky and Peachtree City, GA.

Cappie was a well known and active citizen of her two resident communities. In Maysville, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Maysville Players, DAR, American Red Cross, and the Mason County Historical Society. She was a star basketball player, a women's golf champion at the Maysville Country Club and an avid bridge player. In Peachtree City, she owned Cappie's Flowers and Gifts and was active in the Flat Creek Ladies Golf Association and local bridge clubs as well as the First Presbyterian Church.

Cappie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Stanley and Susan Kiernan Crockett; and husband, John M. Cochran Jr., who died in 2001.

She is survived by her five children, Robert (Suzanne) Cochran of New York, NY, John M. (Donna) Cochran III of Souderton, PA, Stanley (Lisa) Cochran of Frankfort, Connie Ashley and Renie Cochran, all of Peachtree City, GA. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Lauren, Christine and Robert Cochran, Kiernan and Isabel Cochran, Ryan and Jennifer Ashley and Connor Presley. She is survived by one sister, Sue Graul of Leesburg, Florida.

Memorial services held Saturday, August 2 at the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City, GA with Dr. David Miller officiating. Graveside services held at the Maysville Cemetery on Friday, August 8. Arrangements by Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, GA.
