Carol Ann Crew passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born March 20, 1942 in Bastrop, LA, the daughter of R.D. "Boots" Reynolds and Evelyn Knight Reynolds. She married Jerry Crew on September 30, 1961 in Bastrop, LA. They moved to Idabel, OK in 1971 where Jerry was involved in the startup of the Valliant Paper Mill.
Carol Ann graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK, with a degree in Elementary Education. She was an elementary school teacher for nineteen years in the Idabel School System, working at George School, Southeast Elementary, and finally Primary South until retiring in 2001. Carol Ann enjoyed traveling and along with Jerry they have been all over the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.
Carol Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Carol Ann is survived by her husband, Jerry Crew of Idabel, OK; daughter, Tracy O'Rear and husband Keith of Idabel, OK; sons, Jeff Crew and wife Kim Poteet Crew of Frisco, TX, Matt Crew and wife Kristen Shipp Crew of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Lindsay O'Rear of Dallas, TX, Brittany Crew of Lubbock, TX, Jason O'Rear of Idabel, OK, Kenzie Crew of Frisco, TX, Tyler Crew of Frisco, TX, Rhett Crew of Tulsa, OK, Ryan Crew of Tulsa, OK; brother, Richard Dennis Reynolds and wife Kaye of Queen City, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel, OK, with Shawn Robertson officiating.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA.
