Muriel was the founder of the Senior’s Resource Centre, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Saint John area senior citizens and their families. She was a member of many community groups, including the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 69, the Women’s Institute in Lorneville, Baxter Orange Lodge and NB Seniors. Muriel was a teacher for the 4H Club for 25 years and also served on the Municipal Senior Advisory Committee with Mayor McAlary.
Muriel will be missed by her daughter, Judi Snow of New Mexico, USA, her nephew James (Ann) Cregan, niece Joye (Elmer) Greenslade, her great nephew Brian (Susan) Walker; her stepson Ivan Chittick of NB; grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Matthew and Lynn Chittick; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with several friends and extended relatives.
In addition to her parents and her late husbands, Muriel was predeceased by two brothers – Theodore and Thomas Cregan and her son-in-law Gary Snow
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Muriel’s life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Senior’s Resource Centre would be appreciated by the family.
