PORTSMOUTH - Harvey C. Creekmore Sr., 85, of the 400 block of Water St., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 9, 2001.
Mr. Creekmore was a native of Portsmouth and had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 56, Pipe Coverer and Insulator, as a general foreman. He was a member of Churchland Baptist Church and the Churchland Masonic Lodge No. 276.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Catherine Joynt Creekmore; one son, Harvey C. Creekmore Jr. of Portsmouth; two daughters, Sandra Creekmore Watson and husband Jay of Ocala, Fla., and Jenny Creekmore Sarratt and husband Arnold of Suffolk; one brother, Walter N. Creekmore Jr. and wife Mary of Suffolk; one sister, Nancy Creekmore Boyd and husband Thomas of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Tara Watson, Jay Watson Jr., Eric Sarratt and Holly Sarratt; three great-grandchildren, Donald Yates Jr., Jessica Harrell and Jay Watson III; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Churchland Baptist Church by the Rev. Lawrence Coleman and Dr. Donald Dunlap. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Masonic rites will be held at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, at 7 p.m. today with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Churchland Baptist Church, 3031 Churchland Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23321.
