ADAMS, Carol C., passed away November 8, 2007.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Stanley Max Adams; and her son, Mark W. Hicks. She is also survived by her dear friends, who were supportive and loving in the good times and in the trying times toward the end of her days. Those friends were Nathan, Donna "Miss Caroline", Madelyn and Clint, Romy, Kizzie, Cindy and George, Rosemary, Pastor Bill Martin, Terry, Patricia, Angela, Dianne, and Carol's dear friend of 47 years, Susan.
Their caring ways made all that she faced much easier. Carol's many years as a stewardess during the 1960's with Eastern Airlines were always one of her favorite topics of discussion. She was based in Miami, Fla. and later in Washington, D.C. She enjoyed every flight and experience that her years with Eastern provided. She had many stories to tell of these very special years; you only had to ask! Some of her most favorite times were spent in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, and most of all, the city of New Orleans. Carol and her husband are members of West End Assembly of God Church, where she was baptized by Pastor Robert Rhoden. Carol had no fear of death. In fact, she embraced it. She knew that she would be with her Lord Jesus Christ, her parents, John and Elizabeth Creekmore, and the many friends who preceded her in death. Carol wants to thank God for bringing Callie into her life and giving her such joy, comfort, and love.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 11, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. A graveside service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park on Monday, November 12 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West End Assembly of God Church.
