Mrs. Orie Creek Stricken Fatally
Mrs. Alma Myrl Creek, 63, of Rockcreek township, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday of a heart attack at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Norval Kline, at Huntington. She had been failing in health several years.
She was born in Chester township on Dec. 4, 1887, a daughter of William Henry and Ettie Noe Carnes. Her marriage in Chester township on Dec. 22, 1906, was to Orie Creek, who preceded her in death on May 30, 1941.
A lifelong resident of Wells county, the decedent was a member of the Rockford Emmanuel Methodist church and the W.C.T.U.
Surviving are the mother, who resides at Leesburg; two sons, Everett Creek, of Bluffton, and Herald Creek, Huntington rural route; four daughters, Mrs. Kline, of Huntington, Mrs. Lloyd Shriner, Warren route 2, Mrs. Max Morgan, of Poneto, and Mrs. Edward Martz, Ossian rural route; three brothers, Everett Carnes, Keystone route 1, Clyde and Eldon Carnes, both of Poneto route 1; one sister, Mrs. Lowell Noe, Leesburg rural route, and 14 grandchildren. One brother, Ralph Carnes, and a sister, Harriett Carnes, are deceased.
The body was removed to the Thoma funeral home where it will remain until time for services.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Emmanuel Methodist church at Rockford with Rev. J. E. Jensen, of North Webster, and Rev. R. D. Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in the Methodist cemetery [sic - Spider Hill Cemetery].
