Paul "Pop" Edward Creegan
April 1, 1935 - February 6, 2014

Cresaptown, MD - Paul "Pop" Edward Creegan, 78, of Cresaptown, MD, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 1, 1935, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Creegan was the son of the late Jerry Creegan and Germaine (Gillard) Creegan. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Margaret Creegan; and infant daughter: Mary Denise Creegan, 1959; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A graduate of LaSalle High School, Class of 1953, Pop was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company with 30 years of service and served as the union representative for retirees from Pittsburgh Plate Glass. Pop helped start the Pee Wee Football League and the Saints Team. He was very active with youth sports and coaching.
Pop was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church serving as a lector in his earlier years. He was a former member of the Fort Cumberland Post #13 American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at Bel Air Elementary School for many years.
Pop is survived by his sons: Kevin Creegan, Swanton, MD; Scott Creegan and his girlfriend, Chris, Cherry Grove, SC; Steve Creegan and wife, Pam, Culpepper, VA; and Brian Schrock and wife, Julie, Barton, MD; his daughters: Cathy Tipton; Sharon Bennett and husband, Ken, all of Cresaptown, MD; and Tammy Dixon and husband, Jim, Lonaconing, MD: as well as 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M., to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2014, at 1:00 P.M.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
