Julia Creedon, 78, of Stroudsburg, died Monday evening, May 11, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of Timothy Creedon, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage on Oct. 30, 2008.
Born on Nov. 20, 1930, in County Cork, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Elizabeth Corkery and lived in Monroe County since 1953. She and her husband have been residents at Manor Care in Easton for the past two years.
She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Elizabeth Kern and her husband, Charles, of Bangor, Joan Slutter-Hawk of East Stroudsburg, Maggie Burch and her husband, Harold, of Nazareth, Mary Spolsky and her husband, Thomas, of East Stroudsburg, and Patrick Creedon and his wife, Penny, of Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, John Corkery of County Cork, Ireland; a sister, Maureen Harmon of England; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Creedon; a sister, Johanna Fitzmaurice; and two brothers, Michael Corkery and Jerome Corkery.
There will be a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. There will be a prayer service at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carmen Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Stroudsburg Cemetery.
