Bedford Free Press (Bedford, Iowa), Thursday, February 18, 1909
Sharpsburg - Robert Cree, father of Dan Cree, died at his son's home west of Sharpsburg, Sunday at noon, of heart and kidney trouble. Mr. Cree was nearly 84 years old. He has been a member of the United Brethren church for a number of years. The funeral was held at the son's home Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, and interment was made at the Gravity cemetery.

Clarinda Journal (Clarinda, Iowa), Thursday, February 18, 1909
Robert Cree, formerly of Douglas Township, Page County, and later a citizen of Clarinda, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1909 at the home of his son, Daniel Cree, near Sharpsburg, Taylor County, at the advanced age, The Journal is told, of something over eighty years. Before he left Clarinda for Taylor County Mr. Cree sustained a stroke of paralysis, and about four years ago was obliged to submit to an amputation of the leg. His death is attributed largely to the ravages of old age. He is survived by a widow and three children---one son and two daughters. The son is Daniel Cree and the daughters are Mrs. William Pfander and Mrs. W. R. [W.] Kirby, all three of whom reside near Sharpsburg. The funeral was held Wednesday. Burial took place at Gravity.
