From the Crittenden Press, March 7, 1912:
Mrs. Sherman Crayne, died at her home at Piney Fork, Feb. 22, 1912. She was born Dec. 13, 1876. Her maiden name was Emma Cannon.
She was married to Sherman Crayne, August 26, 1893. This union was blessed with five children who survive her, one a little infant daughter two weeks old. The life of the little one cost the life of the mother. The loving mother, devoted wife, our true friend and neighbor has been called higher. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. W. Vaughn in
Piney Fork Church after which she was laid to rest in the graveyard at Piney Fork to await the morning of the resurrection.
