Glennis Ella (Craw) Chrysler, 83, of Pompey, NY, passed away September 5, 2006 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Glennis was born September 28, 1922 to Flossie and Louie Craw. She was raised in Cowles Settlement, a hamlet of Cortland County, NY. She was married to Kenneth Charles Chrysler on April 22, 1944. Her husband, Kenneth recalls driving a dairy route, in southern Onondaga County with a co-worker, Pete Craw. He recalls meeting Glennis one day in Cowles Settlement when he offered Pete Craw, Glennis' brother, a ride to Nedrow for Pete to meet a girl. "And that was that" ..., Kenneth said referring to his courtship and marriage. Together they owned a dairy farm on #4 Road in Pompey for over 50 years. Glennis was predeceased by her siblings, Anna Knapp, Ceyion Craw, Peter Craw, Shirley Craw, Christine Woodford, and her daughter, Beverly Jean Chrysler. Glennis celebrated the life of her daughter, Beverly by gathering her family for an extended reunion on the third Sunday of July, every year since her passing, at Pratts Falls Park in Pompey. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Kenneth C. Chrysler; her brother, Paul Craw; sisters, Cora Smiley and Vera Scutt; several nieces and nephews; daughter, Nancy Jean Redmond of Texas; her son, Franklin (Kristen) Louie Chrysler; six grandchildren, Franklin Redmond of Texas, Betsey Harris of Texas, Amy (Kevin) J. Murphy of Syracuse, Kenneth R. Chrysler of Fabius, Benjamin (Jessica) F. Chrysler of Baldwinsville, Timothy M. Chrysler of Pompey; 10 great-grandchildren, Ryan Harris, Marissa Harris, Cole Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Nicholas Chrysler, Rachel Chrysler, Parris Chrysler, Mariyah Hudson, Haydyn Chrysler, and Austin Chrysler. Glennis will be remembered for her humor, her easy and mischievous laugh, and sparkling eyes as she watched her many great-grandchildren play at the family farm and family parties. The highlight of many a birthday was Glennis signing "Happy Birthday" on the telephone to her grandchildren and spouses, and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly called "Grandma Barn" by many of her great-grandchildren, and she passed on her love of farm life to her large extended family. She is loved and will be missed always. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in LaFayette with Rev. Wendall Phol officiating.
