Jean M. Borland, 95, of Peoria, passed away at 1:59 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009 at her residence with her family members by her side. She was born on November 16, 1914 in Peoria to Harry W. and Ellen Jordan Cravens. She married John W. Borland on January 17, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on May 12, 1994 in Peoria.

She is survived by three daughters, Lynn (James) Guyon and Bonnie (Loyd) Garner both of Peoria, and Carol (John Allen) Bury of Henry, IL; one son, Philip (Kathy) Borland of Glasford, IL; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harry (Skip) Cravens of Peoria.

She was a 1936 graduate of Bradley University where she earned her BA degree in music. She was a housewife and piano teacher, teaching at Bradley University. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, P.E.O. and Philharmonic Chorale. She was a former member of St. Philomena and St. Mark's Choirs. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all that knew her.

Services were entrusted to Wright and Salmon Mortuary of Peoria, Illinois.
