James D. Cranmer

James D. Cranmer, 58, of Clay Center, KS passed away on May 22, 2004, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1945, at Clyde, KS, the son of Oscar and Mary Marie Fuller Cranmer.
He graduated from Clay Center Community High School. Mr. Cranmer worked as a truck driver for Key Milling in Clay Center for more than 20 years. He later worked as a welder for Linn Enterprises in Linn. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Clay Center.
He married Jolene Marie Nitcher in 1996. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Ralph Cranmer, Scranton; four daughters, Tammy Liedtke, Clay Center, Christina Cranmer and Lori Cranmer, both in Maryland, and Kim Cranmer, in Colorado; three stepdaughters, Tonya Nitcher, Topeka, Roberta Wehking and husband Michael, Meriden, and Jenny Cole, Clay Center; five brothers, Ralph Cranmer and wife Joann, Clyde, Kenny Gene Cranmer and wife Cindy, Ocoee, FL, Glenn Cranmer and wife Fran, Rogers, AR, Bill Cranmer and wife Penny, Clay Center, and Russell Logan, Wichita, KS; six sisters, Judy Morgison and husband Gary, Ilene Hedberg and husband Ronald, Sue Hedberg, and Pat Eye and husband Leonard, all of Clay Center, Velda Douglas, Clyde, and Connie Williamson and husband John, Avoca, IA; thirteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Cranmer; and a sister.
Funeral services were held May 26, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Clay Center, with the Rev. Daniel Kline officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Clyde. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Clay Center.
