MRS. EMMA ASH
Mrs. Emma Joe Ash, 76, of 1214 Vine St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Connellsville State Hospital at 2:15 o'clock this morning after suffering a heart attack at her home. She had been in ailing health for some time but her death was unexpected.
She was born Sept. 18, 1880, at Leisenring No. 1, a daughter of the late William and Sarah Hager Cramer, and lived in this area all of her life. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception R. C. Church, a charter member of the C. D. of A. and the Christian Mothers.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. Harold A. (Emma Jean) Smith of Uniontown, Mrs. Donald Leighty of East Millsboro, R. D. 1, Paul of Beckley, W. Va., Lawrence of Uniontown, Mrs. Kenneth McCauley, Mrs. Renaldo Caretti and John W. of Connellsville, and Hugh Richard of Torrence, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Rowland of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. William Davies and Mrs. Zed Francis of Uniontown.
Her husband, James J., and three sons preceded her in death.
The body will be at the home after 7 o'clock this evening and there will be a prayer service there at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at Immaculate Conception R. C. Church with the Rev. Henry Geibel as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in charge of Munk funeral service.
