He was united in marriage to Jennie Hoadley Reed, April 2, 1885, at Augusta, Ill. and to this union were born five sons, four of whom are now living: Walter Crain, Kansas City, Mo.; Edward B. Crain, Elmo, Mo.; Paul R. Crain and Rollin D. Crain, of Lewvan, Sask., Canada.
He joined his father's church at Pulaski at an early age, later being a member of the Methodist Church at Clarinda, Iowa, at Braddyville, Iowa and the Union church at Lewvan Saskatchewan, Canada.
He died as he lived, a man of high ideals and fairness, a devoted husband and father. He passed the last few months of his fatal illness in patient suffering.
The funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Tyner residence at which residence he has resided for several months. The services were conducted by Rev. W.D. Smith, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Augusta and the remains were laid to rest in the Pulaski cemetery.
