Alvin Lawrence Craig, 84, died Feb. 25, 2001.
He was born on Dec. 23, 1916, in Grimms Landing, West Virginia. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps as a pilot instructor. During his 38 year career as a bus driver with Greyhound Lines, he was a charter member, board member and later president of Amalgamated Association of Street, Electric Railway and Motor Coach Employees Division 1493. He was a member of Charleston Masonic Lodge No. 153, F&AM, Scottish Rite Body and Beni Kedem Shrine Temple.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary, and second wife of 50 years, Isabel.
Surviving: daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Wally Malinsky, Joyce and Tom McConnell; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jan Craig; two sisters, Delcia Morgan and Marie Johnson; five grandchildren, Melayne Figuero, Jonette Cool, Jeannie Syler, and Andy and Rachel Craig. He is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 1, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Alvin Cox officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, where Masonic rites will be conferred.
Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
