Opal Glenice Crabtree Chitwood, 63, of Cincinnati, O., formerly of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 1986, at the Epp Memorial Hospital in Cincinnati after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John Tom Crabtree and Mrs. Eva Bell Crabtree of Nashville and was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Hoyal "Red" Crabtree. In addition to her mother, she is also survived by two daughters: Mrs. Alice Parton of Science Hill, Ky., and Mrs. Alicia Perry of Owingsville, Ky.; two brothers: Roy Crabtree of Cincinnati, O., and Doyle Crabtree of Nashville; three sisters: Mrs. Virgie Litton of Nashville, Mrs. Chris Murphy of Chamblee, Ga., and Mrs. Louise Teague of Cincinnati, O.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, from the chapel of the Scott County Funeral Home with Rev. Carmel Stanley officiating. Special [singing] was provided by the Gospel Echoes. Burial followed in the Walker Cemetery at Winfield. Pallbearers were: Tony Murphy, David Perry, Mark Parton, Jeff Litton, Eddie Phillips, and Marvin Richmond. The Scott County Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
