Mr. Abraham Cox, one of the oldest residents of Fredericksburg, died at his home here Tuesday night at 9 o'clock, aged 88 years.
He had been ill for some time and his death was not unexpected.
Mr. Cox was born in Stafford, but has resided here all his life, being known to many in the town as a kind-hearted citizen.
He leaves a daughter and two sons—Miss Annie Cox and Mr. Robert Cox, of this place, and Mr. Richard Cox, of Richmond.
The funeral will take place from the Methodist Church, of which he had long been a member, this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the following gentlemen acting as pallbearers:
