LEBANON, Va. Margaet Ellen Bailey, 69, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, in Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born June 24, 1941, in Russell County, a daughter of the late Grundy Cox and the late Dorothy Chafin Cox, she was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Grundy Cox Jr., Carroll Cox, John Cox; two sisters, Elizabeth Hicks and Mary Lou Hicks. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Donald D. Bailey Sr.; four sons, Donald D. Bailey Jr. and Tony Bailey, Lebanon, Mark Edward Bailey, Amarillo, Texas, Andy Bailey, Lebanon; two grandchildren, Michael Bailey Jr., and Jonathan Bailey; one brother, Rusty Lee Cox, Lebanon; special friends, Barbara Hale, Kim Ratliff, Robert Cox, Ashley Killen, Lebanon. The funeral service will be conducted 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Roger Williams officiating. The committal service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. Dwight Bailey officiating. Those attending are requested to meet at the mausoleum. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Les Bryant, Brad McConnell, Gordon Meade, Bill Bailey, Tom Steffey, Dean Bailey, Randy Cantrell and Russell Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Rabbit Dale, Yippy Joe Kiser, Junior Hicks, Jay Shepard, Carl Cox, Donnie Hicks, Billy Joe Hicks and Jim Bailey. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, prior to the service at the funeral home. Combs Funeral Service, 291 Fincastle Road, Lebanon, VA 24266, (276) 889-4444, is serving the family of Mrs. Bailey.
