Nancy Elvie Cox Barnhill
LORIS Mrs. Nancy Elvie Cox Barnhill , age 86, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at her home in Pauline.
Born July 2, 1918 in Loris; Mrs. Barnhill was the widow of the late Lafayette Jerome Barnhill and the daughter of the late Norton Cox and the late Nina Russ Cox. Mrs. Barnhill was a homemaker and a member of the Morning Side Baptist Church in Spartanburg.
Survivors include one son, Jack Strickland and his wife, Patsy, of Pauline; two brothers, Luria L. Cox of Conway and O'Bryan Cox of Loris; two sisters, Esta Gause of Loris and Janiece Norris of Tabor City, N.C.; one grandchild, Johnny Strickland and his wife, Marsha, both of Pauline; three great-grandchildren, Allison and Taylor Strickland, both of Pauline, and Cole Blackwell and his wife, Rachael, of Loris. Mrs. Barnhill was predeceased by three brothers, Eleby Cox, T.P. Cox, and Wilbur Cox and one granddaughter, Donna L. Strickland.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Twin City Memorial Gardens Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Doc Rabon. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 at Hardwick Funeral Home.
