6 May 1929: Mrs. Isabel Cox Bleistein, wife of George S. Bleistein, Jr., passed away Sunday morning at the family home, South Railroad Street, Myerstown, at 9:45 o'clock, following a lingering illness, suffering from a complication of diseases. She had been in failing health for upward of a year. Just twelve weeks ago she was taken to St. Joseph's hospital, at Reading, where she was under treatment for nine weeks. She returned to her home three weeks ago and was confined to bed there until death ended her suffering. Mrs. Bleistein spent her early life in Lebanon, as her father, the late Samuel B. Cox, was for many years proprietor of the Eagle Hotel, at Ninth and Cumberland Streets, now The Weimer. She attended the local schools. Since her marriage she resided at Myerstown. She was widely known there, and a large circle of friends who had learned to admire and esteem her because of many fine traits of character, unite with Lebanon friends in mourning her loss. She was a member of the Myerstown reformed church. She devoted her married career to her home and family and those bereaved have the sympathy of the community. She was aged 50 years. Besides her husband she leaves a son, George S. Bleistein, Jr., who is associated with his father in the coal and feed business, and the following brothers and sisters: Charles B. Cox, formerly engaged in the hotel business in this city and now a resident of York; Harry and Edward Cox, both of Harrisburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Funck Miller, and Mrs. Norman Danner, of Middletown, Maryland. Isaac N. Bahney is arranging for the funeral. [Lebanon Daily News]
