A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Portland for Albert Mitchell Cox, who died Dec. 25, 2008, at age 84. Recitation of the rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 a.m.
Albert Mitchell Cox was born July 24, 1924, in Portland, and raised in Estacada. He graduated from Estacada High School. During World War II, he served in the Army in the Philippines. He was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 21 years and was a member of the church. In 1946, he married BETTY LONG.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Tannus Drakos and Vickie Kemple; sons, David and Lonard; brother, Donald; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
