Gene Edward Cox passed into Heaven on June 23, 2019 at his home in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born June 22, 1943 in Amity, Arkansas.
Gene married Sandra Marie Thatcher on June 14, 1966 in Ft. Worth, Tx. They moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1974 where they raised 2 daughters. Gene worked in the oil fields of Wyoming until they moved to Oklahoma in 1988. He was a Fred Jones employee until his retirement.
Gene accepted the Lord as his Savior on January 15, 1982. Because of this event, we know that we will see him in Heaven again. He is happy, whole and with his beloved wife and Savior, Jesus Christ. Gene was a “fix-it” man. His family knew he could fix anything. He loved his family unconditionally.
Gene is survived by his three sisters, Myrtle, Martha and Connie. His two daughters, Nancy Lalman and her husband Kendale of Santa Clara, California and Teresa Gallegos and her husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He has 9 grandchildren. Micah (Emily), Cherith (Luke) Joseph, Shelby, Moriah, Logan, Holly, Rylee and Maci. He has 3 great grandchildren. Lily, Hudson and Juliette. His family will miss him terribly but know this is not a final goodbye. It is just a temporary separation until we join him in Heaven.
The service will be held at the Mercer-Adams funeral home in Bethany, OK at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019. There will be no visitation but anyone wanting to pay their respects is encouraged to arrive early at the funeral. Interment will follow at Bethany, Cemetery, Mercer-Adams Funeral Services.
