Thomas Malcolm Cox Sr., died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at Potomac Hospital. He had retired from the Air Force and the Capitol Police. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Elaine R. Cox; two daughters, Kathryn Thompson of Westlake, Ohio, and Mary Engebreth of Ashburn; four sons, Thomas M. Cox Jr. of Dale City, William M. Cox of Stafford, Gregory M. Cox of Springfield, and David E. Cox of Manassas; one sister, Suzanne Williams of Houston, Texas, and 19 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Road, Dale City. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060. E-mail condolences may be sent to [email protected].
