TIMMONSVILLE " Mrs. Ada Kirby Cox, age 89, died October 18, 2004 in a Florence nursing facility after an illness.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM tonight (Tuesday) at the funeral home.
Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wesley Rauch and Lizzie Julieann Rauch. She was a homemaker, and a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the church.
She was preceded in death by four husbands, George Lambert Kirby, Leo Tedder, Tennie Hyman and Talbert Cox, two infant children, Christine and Earnestine Kirby, two sisters, Rosa Watford and Lessie Hicks, three brothers, Charlie Rauch, Earl Rauch, and Ray Rauch.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Kirby Dorr of Lugoff, and Jane Kirby (Charles) White of Florence, four sons, Paul (Criss) Kirby of Effingham, Fred (Marjorie) Kirby of Coward, James Kirby, and Harry (Becky) Kirby of Timmonsville. Two sisters, Effie (Lonnie) Grimsley and Nettie Lee all of Scranton. Twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren and numerous stepchildren
