Dolores Rose Cox 65, Indianapolis, passed away April 21, 2004 in her home with her family by her side. She was a wonderful, loving, giving person, who had a beautiful smile. Her top priorities were God and her family.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Her greatest enjoyments were visiting with her grandchildren, holding newborn babies and reading. Since her family was a top priority, she began working late in life. She obtained her degree in Social Services from the University of Indianapolis, at which point, she began her career as a Social Service Director. She worked for over 15 years, including several years at Southeastern Nursing Home. In this capacity, she shared her loving, compassionate, giving personality with the residents and their family members. She is survived by her family, who is grateful to have had her in their lives.
Her family includes her husband of 49 years, Richard E. Cox, Sr.; daughters, Cindy Miller, Patty Burke, Alice Nye; sons, Richard, Darryl, Steve, David, and Darren Cox; grandchildren, Robert, Nicole, Heath, Abigail, Danny, and Andrew Cox, Erin Normand, Stacy and Doug Miller, Caleb, Joshua, and Luke Nye, Mitch Burke; great-grandchildren, Zoë Normand, Victoria Cox; sisters, Mary Burdette, Linda Benifiel; brother, James Trueblood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie Trueblood; brother, Pete Trueblood.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 2015 S. Arlington.
