GLASSCOCK, DOROTHY MARIE was released from the bonds of this earth on Friday, November 29, 2002 alter 91 years of faithful duty to the Lord. She was born July 21, 1911 in Texarkana to James W. and Ethel Cox. She graduated from Honey Grove, Texas, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 33 years, Dallas Fire Fighter, Robert M. (Bob) Glasscock, brother, Jake Cox and sister Stella Mae Plumlee. Dorothy was a prominent member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years serving in numerous capacities including: Grand Representative from the State of Texas to New Jersey. Grand Worthy Matron, and Past Worthy Matron of the Dallas Eastern Star Loyal Chapter #648. She was a member of Past Patrons arid Matrons Association. Dorothy was a longtime active member of Brooklyn Avenue United Methodist Church until its discontinuation. She transferred her membership to Christ United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch. Dorothy worked a number of years as a secretary for the Industrial Risk Insurers and retired from Starr Technical. She was an avid Texas Ranger and Texas A&M fan. Dorothy is survived by a sister-in-law Loma Cox, two nieces, Marvel Austin and Laru Williams, two nephews, Jim Plumlee and Ralph Plumlee, nine grand-nephews and nieces, several great-grand nieces and nephews and countless local friends. To meet Dorothy was to be instantly enveloped by her sincere devotion and compassion for others. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Lennwood Nursing & Rehabilitation and to American Hospice for their loving care during Dorothy's long illness. Services will be 12:00 Noon, Tuesday. December 3, 2002 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment at Laurel Land Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PH. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made the Dallas Eastern Star, Shriner Hospital Burn Unit (815 Market St. Galveston. TX 77550) or Texas Masonic Home & School for Children (3600 Wichita, Ft.
