Houston, Tex., Nov, 27---The funeral of James Bradford Cox, 88 years old, a veteran of the war between the United States and Mexico, who died late yesterday afternoon at his home on the Holman road was held this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. W.S. Lockhart officiated. Burial was made in Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Cox is survived by three sons, W.H. Cox of Houston, Henry Cox of Taylor and F.W. Cox of Beeville. A daughter, Mrs. Ella Taylor of Midfield, also survives him.
*James B. Cox was a Private in Chevallie's Battalion, Texas Mounted Volunteers. He joined Feb. 19, 1847 in San Antonio, TX. Later he was promoted to Sgt, & then Capt. in Gillespils Co, Hays's Reg.
