Neva L. Cox 1919-1997
VIRGINIA - Neva L. Cox, 77, of rural Beardstown, died Friday morning, June 27, 1997, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Cass County, the daughter of Harry C. and Della M. Reichert Schall. She married Thomas R. Cox on Nov. 22, 1942, in rural Virginia, and he survives.
She is also survived by one son, David M. (wife, Audrey) of rural Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Dale E. (Jill) Robbins of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. E. Loyd (Sara) Pohl of Genoa; four grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Williams of McKenzie, Tenn., Della M. of rural Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Wylma Schall.
Mrs. Cox was a long time member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served on the Lords's Acre Committee and was a member of CP Women for many years. She was also a member of the Cass County Home Extension.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Lord's Acre Committee of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
