Obituary - Brent Folsom Cowley Tremonton: Brent Folsom Cowley, Life Flight Pilot, died in a Life Flight accident on Saturday, June 7, 2003 after rescuing a hiker on Mt. Olympus. He died doing what he loved ? helping others.

Brent was born June 2, 1954 in Salt Lake City. Born to Francis Ellison Cowley and Marie Folsom Cowley. Graduated from Bear River High.

Married and sealed to Cheryl Anne Erickson on July 18, 1973 in the Logan Temple.

He enlisted in the Army in 1975. In 1976 he was accepted to flight school and was an Honor Graduate. He retired as CW4 Senior Instructor Pilot after 20 years of military service that included two tours in Germany, tours in the Desert Shield/Storm and Somalia conflict. He was honored with many commendation medals including the German Cross, The Air Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal and achieved many Safety Awards as an Instructor Pilot. He flew for Care Flight out of Reno, NV for two years and then moved to Utah and flew for Life Flight for seven years.

Brent was a dedicated member of the LDS Church. He offered service wherever stationed including Bishop and High Counsel member. His wife, children and grandchildren were the love of his life and is the one thing he enjoyed more than flying.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl, and seven children, Jocelyn Paul Zissi Salt Lake; Jayme Kirk Richins Woods Cross; Jacob Stephanie NSL; Jasmine, Joshua, Jessy and Jordan all of Tremonton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, his mother Marie, brother Craig Cowley Life Flight Pilot and three sisters, Carolyn Perry, Pauline Campbell and Janet Rose.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton LDS South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street. Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Thursday, June 12th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Graveside services including military honor and Life Flight Fly By will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
