Bessie was a homemaker and a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ in Olney, Texas. She lived in west Texas for 22 years, but most of her life in Young County.
Survivors at time of death included one daughter, Janis King and husband Laurence of Slaton, Texas; two sisters, Eulala Ryder of Burlington, Iowa, and Pauline Alberico of Pueblo, Colorado; five grandchildren, Sonya Herrington and husband Ray of Salado, Texas, Keith Brown and wife Dorcell of Dennison, Texas, Lonny King and wife Kim of Brownfield, Texas, Brandon King of Lubbock, Texas, and Lee Brown and wife Callie of Rhode Island.
