AZLE - Shala Dawn Covington, 15, a student at Azle High School, died Tuesday in Parker County on FM 2257 from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Lakeside. Burial: Azleland Memorial Park.
Shala Covington was born Dec. 7, 1980, in Fort Worth.
Miss Covington loved to snow ski, speed skate, play softball and water ski. She had a very special love for small children and animals. She had so very many friends who loved her dearly and will miss her so very much.
She was preceded in death by a cousin, Brian Smith, on Feb. 14, 1994.
Survivors: Father, J. David "Dave" Covington of Azle; mother and stepfather, Judy K. and Randy Martin of Azle; brothers, Tommy Stevens, Mark Martin, Granville Martin and Zack Martin, all of Azle; sister, Shantel Aldredge of River Oaks; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and John Lavigne of Haltom City; grandparents, Pat and Don Nasche of Lake Worth, Jim and Alpha Covington of Plano, and Pat and C.J. Calloway, Norma and Bill Porter, and G.G. Jr. and Jeannette Martin, all of Azle; one niece; fournephews; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
