Edward Glen Coverdill, 77, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee on Sunday, April 10, 2010. He was born in Havana, Arkansas on April 30, 1932 to William O. and Ruby J. (Shaw) Coverdill. He graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1950, attended OSU for 2 years then entered the U.S. Navy in 1951 and was discharged in 1955. Mr. Coverdill had been employed at American St. Gobain, Pittsburg Plate Glass Company, Prudential Life Insurance company, McDonnell-Douglas and was an active member in the VFW Post 1189, American Legion White-Williams Post, and the Okmulgee Elks Lodge. His parents, two wives, Nadine Coverdill and Joyce Vanloon, a daughter Regina Paulette Coverdill, a son Edward Leray Coverdill (Mem. #32884603), and two infant sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be on Thursday, 10:30 am at the Town and Country Christian Church with Pastor Tim Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery with military rites. Honorary Casketbearers will be the VFW. Visitation will be on Wednesday, 1-8 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
