Pembroke - Nancy Coursey Burnsed of Pembroke died Tuesday evening at Marshview Nursing Home after an extended illness under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Burnsed was a native of Chatham County and was a member of the Episcopal faith. She was retired from Howard Johnson Restaurant as manager and was a homemaker in her later years. Mrs. Burnsed was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed crabbing and farming. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Burnsed.
Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Jim Lavender of Savannah; daughter, Rebecca Stanford of Savannah; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Nicholas Ryder of Griffin and Donna and Steve Rushing of Guyton; sisters, Marion Lawyer of Savannah; Francis "Tiny" Rease of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeanette Blum of Norfolk, Va.; grandchildren, Jessica Stanford, Olivia Stanford, Will Stanford; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Lee Anne Rushing and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dennis Baxter officiating. Burial will be at Red Hill Cemetery. Morrison Funeral Home.
