HOLLYWOOD, Miss., Sept. 12,---Roy R. Counts, widely-known and popular planter, died at 5 a.m. at his home in Hollywood. Mr. Counts had been ill for several years but his death was unexpected. He was 55.
Born in Hernando, Miss., he lived there many years and was a leader in Methodist Church and social and business affairs there and, since moving to Hollywood 12 years ago, had been active in the affairs of that city.
Known for his generous contributions to welfare and church work, he also interested himself in quietly aiding many needy individuals, those who knew him well say.
He was a brother of Mrs. H. V. Royal of Memphis, and also leaves his wife; five children, Mrs. George Perry, Hollywood, R. R. Counts, Lula, Miss., and Billy, Bobby and Ann Counts of Hollywood, and his brother, Lerriel Counts, Maude, Miss.
Services and burial will be tomorrow in Hernando.
