Darlyne Cosby Bell, 72, was born to Cora Snow Wright and John Robert Cosby on May 24, 1928 in Mesa, Arizona.
She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer on October 18, 2000. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She grew up in Southern California, where she met the love of her life, Charles Allen Bell. They were married on January 31, 1948, and sealed for time and all eternity with their three children in the Los Angeles Temple on June 19, 1976.
The Bell home has been a place of love and comfort for family and friends throughout the years. Darlyne encircled those she knew in the arms of welcome, acceptance, and good humor. Smiles and laughter came easily when Darlyne was present. Her positive outlook and tolerant attitude influenced all who knew her. She inspired us all with the desire to do better. Darlyne deeply loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her five grandchildren were the joy of her life. Much of her time was devoted to involvement in their activities. Her legacy to them was her example of unconditional love.
Darlyne has been a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served diligently in all auxiliaries of the church over the years. Darlyne possessed the spirit of missionary work and her example brought many people into the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the years of her life. She and her husband served a mission on Temple Square from November 1994 to January 1996. This calling brought her tremendous joy and she often expressed the desire to serve another mission.
Darlyne is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-two years, Charles; her sister, Ella and brother Harold; her two faithful sons, Roger and Robbie; her loving daughters-in-law, Liz and Gina; son-in-law, Karl Pittman; her five beloved grandchildren, Kaylie, Evan, Brennan, Matthew, and Haylee; along with cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter and best friend, Diane.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon. A viewing will be held on Friday evening at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday morning at the Stake Center from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
