Myrtle Jean Bowser, of NuMine, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011. She was the daughter of Austin and Grace Corrigan, who preceded her in death. Jean was born Jan. 25, 1929, on the Hill farm in Rose Valley, Pa. Jean was married to Charles Lindy Bowser, of Punxsutawney, Pa., who preceded her in death in 1988. Jean loved to go out to eat, watch Wheel of Fortune but most of all being with her family. Her favorite scripture is Joshua 24:15 "... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Jean's family includes her beloved aunt, Marie Geidel, of Carlisle, Pa., with many nieces and nephews. Jean's sisters are: Anna Mercer and husband, Harvey, of Maryland, Helen Hughes, of Meadville, Pa., and the late Esther Marie Benson. Surviving children include: Dianna Lewis, of RD 5 Kittanning, Bonnie Bowser Thomas and husband, Elwood Thomas, of NuMine, Penny Jordan and companion, Jeff Swan, of Dayton, Pa., and Dr. Christopher Bowser, of NuMine. Her eldest son, Charles Patrick Bowser, preceded her in death. Grandchildren include: Shannon McCrea and husband, Michael, of South Carolina, Lindy Lewis and wife, Cheryl, of Georgia, Vanessa Henry and husband, the Rev. Kal Henry, of Pennsylvania, Army Chaplin Christopher Lewis and wife, Maricel, of Pennsylvania, Tracy Rearick, of Pennsylvania, Ramon Hidalgo and wife, FaithAnn, of Pennsylvania, Kelly Johnson and husband, Dennis, of Pennsylvania, David Jordan and wife, Becky, of Pennsylvania, Nicole Jordan and companion, Damon, of Pennsylvania, Zach Swan, of Pennsylvania, Hannah Swan, of Pennsylvania, and the late Tad Jordan; great-grandchildren, Toby and Aneilka, Kelsey, AshleeAnn, Alex, Aaron, Isaac, Micah, Elijah, Lydia, Audrey, Dustin, Devon, Aubrey, Jeremiah, Isaiah, CharityAnn, Emma, Lilly, Clay, Ayana and Laken; and great-great-grandchildren, Tyson and with another one on the way. Jean was a member of Holiness Gospel Center Church, Sagamore, Pa., where her grandson, the Rev. Kal Henry, is pastor. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at CARSON BOYER FUNERAL HOME, Rural Valley. Additional viewing at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, followed by service at 11 a.m. at Holiness Gospel Church, Sagamore, with the Rev. Kal Henry, the Rev. Peter Moretti and the Rev. Paul Price co-officiating. Dinner following service at 1 p.m. at the American Legion, Rural Valley.
