Peter Corprew was the son of John Corprew and his wife, Eliza; born in what was then Princess Anne County, Virginia (now city of Virginia Beach). He was married to Adelia A. Campbell on October 8, 1877. They never had any children.

Princess Anne County, Virginia marriage records show the following -
"October 8, 1877 - Peter Corprew, single, and Adelia A. Ward, widowed - Peter Corprew, age 27, born in and residing in Princess Anne County, Virginia, occupation Farmer, son of John Corprew and his wife, Eliza - Adelia A. Ward, age 31, born in and residing in Princess Anne County, Virginia, daughter of Charles Campbell and his wife, Jakey"
