Fineview, Wellesley Island- The funeral for Mrs. Daisy A. Barnes, age 89, formally of Fineview, will be at 2pm on Saturday at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton with Reverend Don Briant officiating. There will be a calling hour from 1pm until the time of the service. Daisy died Sunday in a Syracuse nursing home.

Daisy was born February 19, 1924, in Endicott, NY, the daughter of Ernest and Daisy A. Beagle Cornish.

She married Bill Barnes Sr., September 28, 1941 in Endicott. He died in April 1990.

Daisy worked in Fineview for years as a self-employed hairdresser. She was also an EMT for the Volunteer Wellesley Island Ambulance Service. She retired to Florida for many years and the last five years she lived in Syracuse.

She enjoyed reading.

Surviving are 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one daughter in-law Carol Barnes of Clayton; nieces and nephews.

Two daughters Mrs. Annie Cole of Syracuse, Mrs. Diane Burrows of Florida, a son William (Bill) Barnes Jr. of Clayton and a brother Alfred Cornish all died before her.
