BINGHAM, MARY ANN CORNETT 70, of Oak Grove, Alabama, formerly of Barbourville, Kentucky, was called home on December 6, 2012. She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Donald Ray Bingham, two daughters, Lisa Bingham Weldon (Steve), of Oak Grove, Alabama, and Donna Bingham of Somerset, Kentucky, and three granddaughters: Katie, Casey, and Riley Weldon of Oak Grove, Alabama. She is also survived by her mother Mary Elizabeth Cornett of Somerset, Kentucky, a sister Arlene Cornett Warner, David Cornett (Karen), and Jack Cornett (Dee) all of Somerset, Kentucky, nine nieces and nephews and ten grand nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father Ira Jackson Cornett of Somerset, Kentucky. Mrs. Bingham dedicated thirty-one years to Knox Central High School where she taught health, physical education, and social studies. Mary Ann valued her retired teacher friends, her Tea Buddies, a trio of life-long childhood friends, her fellow Barbourville Garden Club members, and her WMU friends of East Barbourville Baptist Church where she was an active member. After moving to Alabama, her involvement in church continued leading her to become a founding member of Ezra Baptist Church of Oak Grove where she cherished her ladies' Sunday school class. A grave-side service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 8 at the Barbourville Cemetery where respects can be paid. In Mrs. Bingham's honor, gifts to the Ezra Baptist Church Building Fund are welcome at 8743 Lock 17 Road, Bessemer, Alabama 35023. Hopper Funeral Home, Inc. of Barbourville, Kentucky is in charge of all arrangements.
