She was a graduate of the Stuart Robinson Presbyterian High School in Letcher County, Kentucky. On July 2, 1937, she was married in Kentucky to Otto K. "OK" Combs. They moved to Connersville in the late 1940s. Marianne had been employed at Philco, but most enjoyed working on the farm and hosting family get-togethers. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Connersville Country Club.
Marianne is survived by her husband; a daughter, Wanda A. Combs Ferriell of Connersville; five sisters, Wanda Hodge of Wilmington, Ohio, Frances Kwolek of St. John, India "Jimmie" Julch of West Baden, Henrietta Thompson and her husband, Kenneth, of Louisburg, Kansas, and Naomi Whitaker and her husband, Manuel, of Fresno, California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David A. Combs; a sister, Agnes McNeal; and an infant brother.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Reverend Fuzzy Lake of the Christ Jesus Community Church of Connersville officiating. Interment followed in Dale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer Research at Indiana University.
