KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Claudis E. Cornell, 93, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 27, 1914, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Omer D. and Mary Fagan Cornell.
His wife of 40 years, Mary Lagerholm Cornell, died Aug. 12, 1983.
He owned and operated Cornell's Furniture and Wicker I and Rattan II, in Ranson, W.Va., and Charles Town, W.Va.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member and past deacon of Calvary Assembly God Church in Ranson.
He was a member and past president of Full Gospel Businessmen.
He is survived by two daughters, Claire and Claudia; one son, Michael; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Michael Gardner will officiate. Burial will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Fairfax (Va.) Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
