Mrs. Cornelius was born August 6, 1912 in Clarke County, Virginia, the daughter of Charles William and Alice Victoria Boyd Lichliter.
She was retired after 57 years of work from the Berryville Basket Factory.
She was a member of Arcola Senior Citizens Group and a very active member of Crums United Methodist Church. She enjoyed to cook and knit afghans.
After her first marriage to Leonard W. Grimm, who died March 31, 1961, she married Leonard O. Cornelius, Sr. on October 7, 1967 in Berryville, VA. Mr. Cornelius died on June 8, 1988.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Glenda Eleam of Richmond, VA; a step-daughter-in-law, Willa Dee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A step-son, Leonard O. Cornelius, Jr., sisters, Ethel Anderson, Alice White, Myrtle Heishman and Emma Alger and brothers, Johnny, Harry, Clarence, Lafayette, James and Charles Lichliter all preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, with Rev. Hyo Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Pallbearers will be Harry Lichliter, Wilber Alger, Mark Stickel, Jack Hardesty, Glen Stickel and Leroy Buckner.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
