Albert Odell Cornelius was born February 21, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the union of Odell and Ozella Cornelius. He was the 3rd of 5 children born to this union. His Father and Stepmother, Rev. Odell and Patricia Cornelius, Brothers, Eric Denoris, Odell Douglas and Sister, Rachel Elaine preceded him in death.

Big Al, was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1984. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in which he served 10 years.

Big Al, confessed hope in Christ at an early age, and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Barlett Wilkerson at The Baptist Church of the Holy Communion.

After Big Al?s dedicated service to his Country, he pursued employment opportunities. At Barnes Hospital he was a Dispatcher. He went on to work for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a Network Help Desk Technician. He ended his career at US Bank where he served as a collector until health challenges would no longer allow him to work.

On December 8, 2004, Big Al proudly became the father of Gabriel Quinton Cornelius. Big Al referred to Gab as ?The Master?. Gab was his heart. Big Al was persistent about Gab getting a great education at home and at school. He went to as many school activities as he could. They would go out to eat and hang out at the movies. They even had male time at the barber shop. In between time, jazz and ?Old Skool? music was always in the midst. Big Al was a wonderful father and a huge personality. His mini me (Gab) will truly miss him.

Big Al, had many passions in life, one being in Mississippi where he enjoyed visiting with his very special cousins. He was a prolific artist, and a trivia buff. He had photographic memory and outstanding cake baking skills that would satisfy everyone?s sweet tooth. He also was a sports enthusiast and loved all types of music, especially jazz, particularly anything composed by Miles Davis. Albert also had a surprise gift. During times of sorrow, laughter and/or distress, he utilized his gift of gab. He would use humor and express the most eloquent of speeches. Let?s just say, whatever was on his mind was bound to come out of his mouth.

Big Al, took his flight home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 9:02am.

Big Al, leaves to cherish his memory his beloved Mother, Ozella Marie Cornelius; Son, Gabriel Cornelius and Step-daughter MaShia Stewart, 7 siblings, Thomas (Charsetta), Troy , Tracy (William), Harriet, Jerrick (Stephanie), Phyllis, all of St. Louis Missouri, Robin, of Detroit Michigan.
