Mrs. Mary E. Corman, widow of the late Benjamin F. Corman, both long-time residents of Nuckolls county (sic), died Tuesday, July 5th, at Bird City, Kansas, where she had been for some time in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Wright. Deceased was born October 31, 1848 (sic). The remains were brought to Nelson for interment. Funeral services were held in the Christian Church this, Thursday, afternoon, at two o'clock.

Mary Elizabeth Corman, daughter of Wilson and Nancy Beck, was born at Bellfonte, Center (sic) County, Pennsylvania, October 31, 1847, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.W. Wright, near Bird City, Kansas, July 5, 1938, aged 90 years, 8 months and 4 days.
She was married to Benjamin Franklin Corman October 16, 1873, and to this union were born five sons and three daughters. She and her husband were converted and joined the Presbyterian Church at Cadams, Nebraska, in 1908.
Several years later she united with the Methodist Church at Superior, Nebraska, where she held her membership at the ime (sic) of her death. They came to Nebraska in 1878 living at Wahoo, Saunders county (sic), until 1881 when they moved to Nelson.
Since the death of her husband in 1917, she made her home with her children. Her husband and daughter Nancy E. preceded her in death.
Mrs. Corman enjoyed good health until five weeks ago. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Charles Wesley of Sabetha, Kansas, Harry Wilson, William Arthur, Michael Grover of Superior, Nebr., Benjamin Frank of Nelson, Mrs. Nellie Mabel Ellison of Goodland, Kans., and Mrs. Mary Edith Grace Wright of Bird City, Kans; a sister, Mrs. Laura Glossner of Nittany, Pa.; twenty-six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
O gently fold the weary hands,
That toiled so long and well,
Thy spirit rose to angel hands,
When of earth's mantle fell.
She's safe within her Father's house,
Where many mansions be,
O pray that there such rest may come
Dear heart, to thee and me.
From out of town theses were in attendance at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. James Wright and daughter Dorothy of Bird City, Kansas, Mrs. Mabel Ellison of Goodland, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Corman of Sabetha, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Pritts of Guide Rock.
