Arliss Cordell

Arliss Cordell, 78, 104 Chicken Ridge Road, Roan Mountain, died suddenly Thursday, March 7, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Cordell was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Robert and Jennie Morgan Cordell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Cordell was of the Baptist faith and a retired steelworker from Maycomber Steel Company.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Pamela Cordell, Hampton, and Bob and Tami Cordell, Roan Mountain; two grandchildren, Nikki Cordell, Roan Mountain, and Angel Cordell, Elizabethton; and a sister, Joyce Cordell, Roan Mountain. Several nieces
and nephews also survive.



CORDELL -- Funeral services for Arliss Cordell, 78, 104 Chicken Ridge Road, Roan Mountain, who died Thursday, March 7, 2002, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, with the Rev. Randy English officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Richardson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chester Johnson, Grady Johnson, Rick Morris, Rick Cordell, Randy Miller, Tracy Holtsclaw and Mike Blevins. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday
at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the home of his sons, Harold Cordell, Hampton, and Bob Cordell, Roan Mountain.
